Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2, 2026

This privacy policy applies to the StoneLens app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by freeweb (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application uses Google Analytics 4 and Google AdMob for ad delivery and usage analytics, which may automatically collect user information. Additionally, the Application sends images captured or selected by the user to the OpenAI API for AI-powered mineral identification.

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

Camera and Image Data

The Application requests access to your camera or photo library to provide the AI mineral identification feature. Images you capture or select are sent to the OpenAI API for identification purposes. Images are not automatically saved to your device's photo library.

User-Provided Data

The Application allows you to optionally enter information such as context notes (e.g. collection environment notes, up to 200 characters) and your OpenAI API key (entered in the Settings screen). This data is stored only in the device's local storage and is not transmitted to external servers (the API key is used solely for making requests to the OpenAI API).

Identification Results and Collection Data

AI identification results (mineral name, classification, confidence score, hardness, chemical formula, physical properties, etc.) and data added to your collection are stored exclusively in the device's local storage. This data is not transmitted to any external server.

Location Information

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.
